The Brief
A man from North Carolina was taken into custody for allegedly sending electronic death threats to his estranged wife. The personal cost was the loss of his freedom through imprisonment, loss of child custody, assets, income and reputation.
The Outcome
Our cyber investigation team was able to prove that the threat communications came from the alleged victim herself. She was setting up her husband to get an advantage in child custody proceedings. Michael submitted evidence and supporting affidavit to prosecutors. The innocent man was then released after having spent 12 nights in county jail. His estranged wife was charged.
